About House of Reeds

House of Reeds is a digital landmark dedicated to preserving the heritage and legacy of Qamishli — historically known as Bēṯ Zālīn, the Syriac name meaning “House of Reeds.” This project exists so that the city's founding story, trade pioneers, and visual history remain discoverable by search engines, scholars, and future generations.

Built and maintained by Hankified Ventures, House of Reeds presents curated historical documentation in an editorial, museum-like experience. Every page is written to honor the grit of the generation that built a home where only reeds grew.
